If you want to achieve anything in life, you need to firstly set your goals and then give yourself permission to receive it!

This is why having a “Why” is really important for your life, and particularly for your health.  It becomes your inspiration because it stops you questioning and aligns you to your hearts’ TRUE desires of why you want to achieve feeling however you want to feel.

In order to achieve your goals, which are stepping stones toward achieving your dreams, you need Inspiration.  This keeps you moving forward even on the days that feel challenging.

Some people are naturally born with self-motivation and an inspired mind, however for others these are lacking, and it creates negative self-talk of ‘I will start tomorrow’ or ‘I can’t afford it right now’ or a classic case of ‘I would never be able to do that ’.

The KEY defining factor that turns a positive thought into an action is Inspiration.  Without inspiration, you can’t achieve all the things you would like to, as it creates a situation where there are no goal posts to aim for or purpose to work those goals.

This is why I speak about the importance of “knowing your WHY” in regards to your life, and particularly your health!

Each of us are unique and have a purpose on earth. To be the steward of your purpose and do it well, you must connect with Why you want to do it and achieve all you do.  This is what turns your goals and dreams into a reality.

If Steve Jobs wasn’t motivated to start Apple, you wouldn’t have a Macbook air, iPhone or iPad.

So many inspired people have helped you have all of what you have in life – a television to watch, a computer to educate yourself, or the electricity to run these things.  It was those inspired and curious individuals that worked on turning their dreams into a reality, that has given us all so much in life to be thankful for.

When it comes to health, your own personal inspiration is what will help you achieve your personal best and help you to be the best version of you, you can possibly be.  This opens doors for you in all other areas of your life.

When you feel great within your own skin, it has a positive effect on your self-confidence, which in turn helps your relationships (with yourself & others) and the community you live in.

If I haven’t managed to convince you of the importance of getting in touch with your Why and learning what inspires you in life and health, here’s 7 reasons of why inspiration is not only important in life, but is also necessary to fulfilling your dreams.

INSPIRATION AIDS GOAL SETTING

If you are inspired, you have a true desire to change your life. It is this inspiration that pushes you towards your goal because of that desire for change.  You know you want something bigger for yourself and knowing Why you do is what helps you get clear on those goals, so you know exactly where you are heading and why you want it.

INSPIRATION HELPS PRIORITISE IN LIFE

When you know what your goals are and why you want to achieve them, inspiration is what helps you prioritise things in your life to achieve them.

If for example your goal is to lose weight, you need to dedicate time each day to preparing clean nutritious foods and doing the tasks that help you achieve your goal e.g. going for a walk.  It is Inspiration – knowing why you want to lose weight in the first place, that helps you focus and make a commitment to yourself, in order to achieve your goal.

INSPIRATION DEFEATS SETBACKS

You know the saying in life “Anything worth having, is worth working for”.  There is not a successful person in the world that has not experienced setbacks on their journey. Setbacks brings questionnning of “can I really achieve this”, “do I have it in me to keep going” or perhaps “I don’t know if this hard work is worth the effort” , but your own personal inspiration and knowing Why you are doing something, kicks in and this is where your strength, determination and courage to keep moving forward comes from.

Inspiration teaches you perseverance and helps you move past setbacks, doubts and fears. Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb, is noted for his quote, ‘I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.’  He also inspired the thought, ‘Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.’

Inspiration and connecting to Why you are doing anything, will teach you to persevere when reality tells you to give up.

INSPIRATION FIGHTS FEAR

I don’t think I have ever met a person who has not had fear of failure at some time in their life.  This fear will literally stop you from taking action.  And of course, you guessed it, it is inspiration that kicks fear in the butt because it tells it, no matter what I’m feeling, I’m going to keep going anyway.  People that are inspired see beyond their fear and can visualize the end result.  It helps you stay connected to the bigger picture.

INSPIRATION BUILDS SELF-CONFIDENCE

It is very easy to experience a lack of self-confidence.  It comes as a result of our internal programming, our stories from childhood to adulthood that are either real or perceived, that either can build us up or tear us down.

When you have inspiration to achieve your goals, confidence is built by the little steps taken to achieve the goal.  You have the ability to push through setbacks and fear, and it is replaced with a sense of accomplishment, which in turn builds the inner confidence to try something new.

How inspired people usually have a few projects on the go, is because they have pushed through barriers and achieved positive results, which has then given them the inspiration to start new projects and set new goals for themselves.

INSPIRATION ATTRACTS YOUR TRIBE

Who doesn’t love hanging out with people that “get them”?

When you meet inspired people, their vibe can be infectious.  If you align yourself with their energy, you can then draw from their expertise, and this then helps you build your own inspiration to achieve your personal goals.

INSPIRATION IS CONTAGIOUS

There is no denying inspiration is an attractive trait, that by nature inspires others to make things happen in their own life.  When you hang out with a self-motivated and inspired person, you instantly feel like you can achieve anything yourself – their positivity and can-do attitude lifts your own spirit.  Seeking out an inspired person certainly can help elevate your own inspiration.

Inspiration is a muscle that needs to be constantly stretched and worked.  To achieve inspiration, you can certainly be inspired by others by reading their stories and listening to people that are motivational speakers.

But to me, to find your own personal inspiration or Why you want to achieve anything in your life or health, you must connect with your Inner Self..
